The way the return air works upstairs is there is a large return air grille in a hallway near the closet and then in the 4 rooms upstairs each room has a return grille going back via ducts to the location of the main return grill in the ceiling. It is a heat pump with electric heat backup. Have 2 Carrier Heat Pump systems, one is located upstairs in a closet for it.
